BWF Delegation Participates in the Second Palestinian Dutch Bilateral

A BWF delegation concluded an economic tour in the Netherlands after participating in the Second Palestinian Dutch Cooperation Forum, in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the Prime Minster Dr. Rami Hamdallah, and their Excellency: the Minister of National Economy Abeer Odeh, Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad al-Malki, Minister of Local Government Hussein Al-Araj, Minister of Agriculture Sufian Sultan along with Dutch Prime Minister and more than 200 representatives of the private sector, local authorities, academia, and civil society.  This biggest joint event between the two countries aims at promoting the bilateral cooperation at the level of the two countries.  Ten businesswomen of BWF members participated in the Forum.  BWF Delegation also participated in the round table meeting with the participation of Minister of Economy of both governments to discuss the investment environment in Palestine.

BWF's Chairwoman, Ms. Maha Abu Shusha, headed the Delegation that consisted of ten businesswomen and women entrepreneurs from several sectors.  BWF organized, on the side of the Economic Forum and in collaboration with the Dutch government, a program where several meetings were held with representatives and directors of companies and institutions similar to those of the delegation's.

During the conference also, BWF Delegation met with Ms. Lilianne Ploumen, the Dutch Minister of Trade and Development, where the Delegation discussed the current situation and future plans of BWF and the most important programs it is working on in order to create an environment supportive of entrepreneurship for women and promote the importance of their role in decision-making positions.

Abu Shusha also noted the importance of this high-level economic missions and the importance of the participation of businesswomen in such due to their significant impact on promoting and highlighting the role played by Palestinian women in the Palestinian economy and in encouraging more women to start their own projects and entering the business world.
