BWF- Palestine opens the exhibition “Your presents from us are different "Hadayakum men ana gheir” in Ramallah

Under the patronage and in presence of Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Dr. Laila Ghannam, BWF Palestine opened the exhibition “Hadayakum men ana gheir”.  Mr. Khalil Rizek, Head of the Chamber of Commerce attended the opening of the exhibition which had more than fifty Palestinian women displaying their local products from all the cities of the West Bank.

The exhibition, which was held at Alhambra Palace in Ramallah over two days, included handcrafts, accessories, food, fashion, olive oil soap, olive paste, and holiday gifts.

Dr. Laila Ghannam expressed her pride of local Palestinian products and their ability to compete with imported ones pointing to that Palestinian women were able to enter the business world freely and to build her own capacity with the support from BWF until she has become no longer amateur but rather a businesswoman that competes with men at various levels.

Dr. Ghannam stressed on the need to hold to the Palestinian heritage the Israeli occupation is trying to steal and falsify and our response to such attempts is through our exhibitions and activities such as the exhibition of today.

At the end, Dr. Ghannam thanked BWF - Palestine and the Chamber of Commerce in Ramallah and al-Bireh for their efforts in the success of the exhibition and the promotion of Palestinian products in various means and ways.

In return, BWF Chairwoman, Ms. .Maha Abu Shusheh, emphasized that the exhibition intersects with BWF objectives to promote and strengthen entrepreneurship among women in all sectors, in addition to networking with local and international institutions and organizations, and that such annual marketing exhibitions of Business Development Center members’ products add to these women a lot of experiences and networking opportunities to identify the new developments in the markets.  She also stressed on the need to support the local product.

Ms. Doa Wadi, BWF Executive Director, emphasized the concrete development the exhibition visitors witness year after year in the form and quality of products of the members of the Business Development Center, BWF’s technical arm, and the ability of entrepreneurs in marketing displaying products as a result of the workshops, training, and the reciprocal visits the Center arranges annually.

Ms. Nehaya Abu Khater, an owner of accessories project, said that the exhibition enabled us to showcase our capabilities in addition to the exchange and benefit from the exhibitors.  Visitors from different areas of the West Bank and inside the Green Line came to the exhibition.  Ms. Abu Khater thanked BWF for what it provided and will provide for women as the forum did not refuse any request from them, she added.

Exhibition visitors expressed their admiration in it and its diversity.  Latifa Awad, a visitor, stressed on the need to show the Palestinian embroideries that reflect the history of Palestine and market it to the world.

The Palestinian citizen, through the exhibition, knows where the product stands in terms of quality standards and specifications hand.  This was the opinion of Mr. Fayyad Fayyad, a visitor and also the Director General of the Palestinian Olive Council.  He also said that the exhibition was able to market the products and network locally and abroad.
