Businesswomen Forum - Palestine and Bahrain Businesswomen Society signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at establishing experience and information exchange, regional and international network to create new opportunities for Palestinian and Bahraini businesswomen and entrepreneurs, and cooperation to implement joint projects regionally that serve both parties.
The signing ceremony of the MOU took place today at BWF offices and was signed by Ms. Maha Abu Shousheh, Chairwoman of BWF, and Ms. Fatima Kohaji, Vice Chairwoman of Bahrain Businesswomen Society. Delegations from both sides attended the ceremony.
Ms. Abu Shousheh stressed on BWF’s objectives of supporting and strengthening the role of Palestinian businesswomen and females entrepreneurs. She said: “Our goals, projects, and business cross with those of Bahrain Businesswomen Society. Based on our belief in the importance of cooperation with local and regional partners to serve the private sector especially women in business, we have signed the MOU to serve women and female entrepreneurs through several programs in which both parties meet. We aspire through this MOU to locate regional and international opportunities that enhance the role of businesswomen and deliver their voice to decision-makers especially that the BWF and Society are founders of the MENA Businesswomen Network.”
In turn, Ms. Fatima Kohaji, Vice Chairwomen of Bahrain Businesswomen Society, stressed on the importance of such relationships and on promoting such regional networks as the difficulties faced by businesswomen in the Arab world are similar, on looking for regional opportunities for both parties, on opening of new markets, and on exchanging experiences and information. She also thanked BWF for hosting the Bahraini delegation and discussing the opportunities of the two sides and areas of cooperation.
In turn, Ms. Doa Wadi, BWF’s Executive Director said that the BWF seeks in its plan for the year 2015 to raise the efficiency of Palestinian businesswomen and female entrepreneurs through several programs geared towards enabling them to export to Arab and international markets.
