Since the establishment of the Business Women Forum - Palestine in 2006 by a group of businesswomen who either own or run an organization, company or project, which is a non-profit organization, who believes that women's economic participation is an essential element in economic development in Palestine. To achieve the goals of the Forum and from the belief in the role played by women entrepreneurs in Palestine, the Forum has established the "Business Development Center for Women" in 2009 with the support of Cherie Blair Foundation for women. The message identified by the founders of the Centre is "to work to enable women to increase their contribution in economic activities by increasing their competence and capabilities in the competitive domestic and overseas markets." In order to accomplish that, BDC will provide a package of necessary services to enable women to transform project ideas into well attainable and organized projects which are reflected in small businesses.
